The Swan

This series of 24 works is an abstraction and transformation of forms. The figures become increasingly abstract and geometric until the very last painting that revisits figuration. Artwork Spotlight

Altarpiece moves away from spontaneous mark-making toward precise geometry and balance. Curator Tracey Bashkoff notes, these works aim to “translate complex spiritual concepts into visual form,” with color, symmetry, and shape carrying meaning rather than depicting the visible world.
